Customers include 18 out of the top 20 pharmaceuticals as well as over 200 customers in the hospital system market. They provide a HIPAA-secure exchange for messaging and collaboration.

Position:  Regional Vice President, Business Development

Job Summary:

The Regional Vice President, Business Development will sell a SaaS-based analytics/profiling solution and packaged consulting offerings as well as Non-Personal Promotion solutions into Pharmaceutical companies (biotech, medical device, diagnostics, surgical device).

The RVP Business Development role will work in concert with sales engineers and sales leadership in prospecting new and existing assigned accounts. 

Must be comfortable addressing the business needs of and pitching to pharmaceutical sales leaders (VPs of Sales/VP Sales Ops/Regional or District Managers, Brand/Marketing Directors/VP’s etc.), writing proposals, and acting as a consultative advisor. Pharma clients may range from Top Ten pharma (Merck et al) down to smaller biotech and medical device companies.

Responsibilities:

  • Generate new customer leads and close business through personal networking and solutions selling.
  • Land and expand clients in critical regional pharmaceutical territory.
  • Achieve and exceed quarterly sales targets for your assigned accounts.
  • Manage, analyze, and develop new and recurring business.  Ensure client satisfaction and deliver the right solutions to the right clients.
  • Develop strategic account plans and long term vision of account services.
  • Complete demonstrations and review potential solutions (promotional, analytical, HCP outreach) with prospective clients. Prepare proposals and facilitate closing process through effective communications.
  • Negotiate pricing and contract terms, facilitate post sale transition to client services team.
  • Work with immediate supervisor (VP BD) and senior management (SVP) to assess market opportunities and strategy. 

Requirements:

  • 5-10 years as a sales professional with experience selling digital solutions and or analytical/data products into pharmaceutical firms.  Knowledgeable of healthcare and pharmaceutical trends.
  • Documented track record of meeting and exceeding quotas.  Experience closing deals of 250K or greater.
  • Strong business and communication skills. Active listener. Proven ability to discus business issues and develop clients solutions. Self motivated and organized.  Proven ability to establish and develop long lasting relationships.
  • Ideal candidate will combine the best elements of “Hunting” and “Farming” sales styles.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% or more and work from virtual home office.

Education and Typical Years of Experience:

  • Combination of 5-10 years of digital promotion, pharma analytics or SaaS sales and/or consulting experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
