Our Client is one of the most recognized and trusted brands of health information and the leading provider of health information services, serving consumers, physicians, healthcare professionals, employers and health plans through their public and private online portals and content solutions.  They have six health networks across consumer and professional markets and generate more than $800M in revenue.  Their consumer portals and mobile health applications provide engaging, relevant and credible health and wellness information, personalized health assessment tools and access to online communities.  They are the #1 most visited consumer health portal. 

Position:  Director Strategic Accounts- Pharmaceutical (Consumer segments).  Position reports to Vice President Sales. 

Responsibilities:

  • Sell current and new advertising products including private and public online portals, mobile, content driven sponsored solutions to leading consumer facing, pharmaceutical brand sponsored solutions. 
  • Meet quarterly and annual revenue goals of $2M.   Named accounts will include top 10 pharmaceutical consumer brand clients. 
  • Develop the strategies needed to help clients make informed decisions through a consultative sales approach. 
  • Utilize forecasting and business analytical skills to take advantage of opportunities and to expand relationships.
  • Build relationships with media agency directors/planners and brand decision makers.
  • Develop and pitch client proposals and opportunities ie:  advertising campaigns, custom programs, etc.
  • Work closely with internal clients’ campaigns on the client health network. 
  • Work closely with sales planning group to ensure advertising campaigns performance metrics.

Requirements:

  • Extensive client facing, deal-making experience and a desire to aggressively “hunt” and develop new business.  Must be able to farm and hunt.  Manage one or major accounts and continue to develop new brand relationships.  Experience with working with CMI, Digitas, FSB, etc.  agencies. 
  • Track record of meeting or exceeding quota.  Should have attained $1.5M quota in previous roles.
  • Excels in an entrepreneurial sales environment and can be a brand champion, data expert, as well as a client consultant. 
  • Healthcare vertical experience required although CPG may be considered. 
  • Agency experience in both the planning and buying of traditional and interactive media a plus.  Experience with working with CMI, Digitas, FSB, etc.  agencies. 

Education and Typical Years of Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 to 10 years of advertising sales experience (consumer preferred) with 5 or more digital preferred.
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience required.
